Instant bond
Casttec adhesives form an almost instant bond once materials are brought together without the need for holding or clamping.
Non-destructive
Adhesives provide a strong and secure bond without causing damage to the formwork or inserts
Easy clean-up
After 8-24 hours, the adhesive crystalises, allowing easy removal without the need for specialist cleaning products.
Cost-effective
Casttec adhesives are a fraction of the price of magnets, tapes or special inserts for screws or bolts.
What are precast adhesives?
Casttec adhesives and the tec range of heavy-duty industrial applicators from Power Adhesives are a simple and cost-effective way to bond both structural and architectural elements to precast concrete forms.
This one-step process does not require primer, and once the parts are brought together, the adhesive sets instantly to provide a strong bond to withstand the pouring and vibration of concrete. Once the concrete has set, the section can be easily removed, and any adhesive residue on the mould base can be scraped off for a fast and easy cleanup.
Put Our Kettle To The Mettle
casttec®
Safety Kettle
The casttec® Safety Kettle is a safe, portable applicator for the delivery of high-output, hot melt adhesive used in the forming stage of the pre-cast concrete industry.
The casttec® safety kettle is designed to assist the precast manufacturer with the safe application of hot melt adhesive for larger forming elements such as:
- Bulkheads
- Side rails
- Large-diameter foam hole formers
Insulated Shell
Plastic Insulation allows the inside vessel to reach maximum temperatures of 380°F/195°C but at the same time provide cooler outside surface temperatures to prevent accidental burns.
Long & Stable Handle
The handle is positioned directly across from the pour spout to give the operator control of the kettle without unintended tipping or movement that can cause spills and burns.
Total Control
The variable temperature thermostat allows the system to operate from 320°F/160°C and 380°F/195°C depending on the operator setting.
Safety Shut Down
The over temperature system is designed to shut down all power to the heaters if temperature surpasses the maximum temperature rating.
Self-Contained Heating
The built-in electric heating system allows the casttec® safety kettle to quickly and efficiently melt the adhesive without the need for external hot plates or burners.
Easy Loading
Easily load the safety kettle by dropping casttec® glue slugs into the 1 3⁄4” diameter loading tube on the top, so no need to open a lid.
1. Power on
Turn the casttec® safety kettle on. Allow 30-45 minutes for the adhesive to completely melt
2. Load up
Insert casttec® hot melt adhesive (43mm slugs or bulk pillows)
3. Work hands free
4. Easy clean
Which casttec® adhesive?
Casttec GP 42-43
The best seller and most general purpose adhesive. Bonds a wide range of materials and recrystallises for easy clean
Casttec Cool 45-43
Designed for use in colder environments by offering a longer recrystallisation period. When the forms are cold in winter, Casttec Cool offers stronger bonds at lower temperatures
Casttec Plus 47-43
Formulated for use in warmer environments. Its chemical composition means it can be applied, allowed to set, and removed at temperatures close to 40°C.
Casttec Lite 40-43
If your forms are fiber glass, Urethane or Epoxy coated this is the product for you. Cleans without surface damage on forms not made of steel.
Casttec Max 43-43
Ideal for when repeated pours are required without resetting the form. Is harder to clean up, but will reduce the amount of work resetting forms that repeat in design daily
Casttec Foam 39-43
Designed to be applied at temperature as low as 120°C,making it suitable for bonding heat sensitive substrates such as EPS.
Tec applicators
These advanced industrial glue guns can dispense casttec®
hot melt glue at high output rates.
tec 3400
Electronically controlled 43mm bead applicator, designed to withstand industrial environments. Plug-in module temperature controls ensure a consistent internal temperature, so adhesive melts on demand.
tec 6100
Pneumatically assisted 43mm bead applicator for industrial use. Air-assisted output reduces operator fatigue during constant use as well as increasing output. Requires air and electric supply.
tec 6300
Pneumatically assisted 43mm spray applicator for industrial use. Adjustable spray pattern temperature controls allow adhesive to be sprayed onto heat-sensitive substrates without causing damage. Requires air and electric supply.
tec 7100
Pneumatically assisted 43mm bead applicator for industrial use. Air-assisted output reduces operator fatigue during constant use as well as increasing output. Speed load design saves time reloading. Requires air and electric supply.
tec 7300
Pneumatically assisted 43mm spray applicator for industrial use. Adjustable spray pattern temperature controls mean adhesive can be sprayed onto heat-sensitive substrates without causing damage. Speed load design saves time reloading. Requires air and electric supply.
Safety Kettle
The casttec® safety kettle is safe, portable, and designed for high output application of hot melt adhesive. Featuring built-in safety features including an insulated shell and over temperature sensor. The safety kettle is easy to use and takes 43mm (1¾”) slugs or bulk pillows.
